Game terms

Tokens are free game points. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred to other players or exchanged for money, prizes or anything else, and can be reset at any time.

• Every player gets a free welcome bonus and a small daily login bonus. That is the only way tokens enter the game.
• Staking tokens on a challenge is part of the game only. There is no cash-out, withdrawal, purchase or real-money transfer of any kind.
• One attempt per player per challenge. Odds shown are estimates from a computer solver.
• Please don’t put anything truly secret or personal in a message. GT Cipher is a game, not encryption.

• Challenge games time out: if you go 30 minutes without a guess on a staked challenge, the attempt counts as a fail and your stake goes to the encoder.

Credits

The difficulty estimates use an English word list derived from wordfreq by Robyn Speer, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0, filtered against the public-domain ENABLE word list. Our derived list (packages/core/src/words.ts) is shared under the same licence.
