Hide a message in music
GT Cipher turns words into notes. Send a musical secret to a friend — they decode it hangman-style and learn to read music on the way.
1. Hide it
Player A types a secret message, picks a key (0–25), a difficulty level and an instrument. Every letter becomes a note.
2. Send it
You get a link. Send it to a friend by WhatsApp, text or email.
3. Hear it & read it
Player B hears the message as music while the notes scroll along a treble-clef staff.
4. Crack it
Guess letters like hangman. Right letters appear everywhere in the message. Six wrong guesses and the jellyfish are gone!
How the code works
Each letter (A=0 … Z=25) is shifted by your key and the instrument, then mapped onto 26 notes from C4 (middle C) up to C#6. Spaces become rests, and . , ! ? become very high “marker” notes. Harder levels change the instrument for every note, or pack two letters into one chord.
Tip: turn on “show note names” in the game to learn where each note sits on the staff.
GT Cipher is a game, not encryption. Don’t use it for anything truly secret.
